Wanted to treat my wife to a night away and also our little terrier. We found this little gem of a hotel that accepts dogs. Booked and paid online. On arrival we got a lovely surprise. …

We had a lovely stay here. Customer service was excellent. We had a minor problem with our room and Raashi, who was looking after us, immediately moved and upgraded us to a better one! …

Really nice and friendly modern hotel in a great location. Good food with a nice menu to choose from. Staff are really good and friendly. Only slight downside is they are kept really busy, could do with more of them, but I know there are staff shortages in most highland hotels and restaurants. We have stayed here before and will come back again.

Old fashioned hotel except the restaurant. Staff were nice. Restaurant was pleasant to have a meal in and food was ok, breakfast was ok although the sausage looked like and tasted like it had been cooked more than once. …

Everything perfect, except no one was in reception they don’t keep it covered, we had to go and find someone. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, however we had to pay extra for breakfast it’s not in the room rate. Service great. Dog friendly and a bed was provided for Norman (who was far too big for it) nice touch though.

This place was deserted and I can see why. We bought two lagers with lime. £12. Mega expensive for a pint of lager. The next customer bough 2 lagers. Charged £10. So a dash of lime was £1. A complete rip off. Place was dead and I can see why with prices like that.

We are a couple of pensioners with small dog specifically choosing this pet friendly hotel. The Moorings was easy to locate next to Neptune's staircase on the Caledonian Canal which also made a good dog walk in the mornings. The hotel is clean and tidy and our room was satisfactory for a 2 night stay. Unfortunately other guests next door were quite noisy in their rooms with the usual banging doors and wardrobes. The meal we had in the bar area (due to pet) was very good and so was the service. All staff were friendly and we would probably stay again.

My husband and I stayed here as we were up at Fort William for a wedding.|We got a warm welcome and the room was big and had a lovely view. |The breakfast was fantastic. |We paid £120 for the room and breakfast. |We would stay here again although there are parts of the hotel that could do with an update.

The Moorings has a great location, right next to Neptunes staircase. However, for £180 a night, this was our worst value hotel on our trip north. And that was room only without any breakfast!!|There was no staff at the check in.  …

There were so many hallways and staircases to get to our room that it was comical. I took a video going from my second floor room to the reception desk and it took almost four minutes to walk the staircases. That being said, my room was very spacious, my bathroom was nice, everything was clean. I had a corner room so I had a view of the water as well as a green space and it was comfortable enough at night to open the windows and listen to the gentle rain.I didn't get a chance to eat there because like so many other things in Scotland, they close kitchens very early (for my taste, at least.)
